Dried Curry Prawns
iSome people said, if the weather is cold… is great to gorge on Spicy Cuisine.
But in Malaysia (Hot Weather country), we have all different races living together, although weather is all the while HOT. Still there are a lot of Malaysians like Spicy Food!

I believe that my BigFish Cook Book on Spicy Cuisine Recipes influenced by the many factors.
Malaysian curries typically use curry powders rich in coconut milk, shallots, ginger, belacan (shrimp paste), chilis, and garlic.
With the Prawns, Chilies (both dried and fresh), shallots, garlic and torch ginger I have in the fridge. I am NOT going to use Coconut Milk and Shrimp paste for my BigFish Curry Cuisine.

1. 15 medium sizes prawns
2. 1 Red Onion (cubed)
3. 4 shallots (chopped)
4. 1 Big garlic (chopped)
5. 3 Red Chilies (chopped)
7. 2 Dried chilies (chopped)
8. 1 Torch Ginger (chopped)
9. 1 Tomato (cubed)
10. 1 stalk Chinese celery (cut 1 inch)
Methods:~ medium heat
1. Trim and cut the back of the prawns and devein.2. Season with sufficient salt and pepper.
3. Heat 4 tbsps cooking oil and sauté ingredients 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 until fragrant.
4. 4. Stir well BABAS Curry Powder (25g) and 1 tbsp Sour Plum Sauce with ½ bowl of water (stir fry 5 min)
5. Add in Tomato and red onion (cubed), plus 2 cups of water.
* simmer prawns together for 10min.
6. Add Chinese Celery 5 min before dish up.

Lotus Roots with Peanuts ~ Soup
Ingredients:
1. Spare Ribs (4 pcs)
2. 2 blocks Lotus Roots (sliced)
3. 50g Wolfberries ~ Ji Zi
4. 6 Red dates ~ Hung Zau
5. 4 Chinese Mushrooms
6. 1 Dried Squid
7. ½ rice bowl Peanuts
Methods:
1. Clean Spare Ribs, cut into cubes. Blanch in boiling water, rinse to remove scum.
2. Rinse Wolfberries, Red dates, Chinese Mushrooms, and squid.
3. Cut Lotus Roots into slices.
4. Simmer all ingredients with 2ltr water with electrical slow cooker.
5. Add sufficient salt.
*With low heat- for over night at least 6 hours.
*With High heat – for 4 hrs.
Dish up! Dish up! ~ SERVE!!!

Spicy Aroma Pork
Personally, I love spicy food! When I cook, I like to use garlic, onion, shallots, hot pepper, chilies, etc…
I always feel like if adding or garnish with some of the spicy seasoning, it produces with nicer aroma and taste heavier.
I was curious about why people always making beef with onion and black pepper? But I didn’t have beef in the fridge that day, then something blinking in my mind that make me feel like I wanna create my own dish again with Pork. In fact, Big Fish Cook Book is time to add in some new cuisine again.
Then I start to marinate the pork with Bird Eye Chilies…

Sg. Buloh Leprosy Settlement
After chatting with my lovely blogger-mate, I decided to write about the place of my “Every Sunday’s Outing” to post it up here…
Here I come… as what I mentioned in my previous post, Sg. Buloh Nursery ~ Lam Garden is the usual outing place I have to go mostly for every weekend.
Since then only I found out there might be a lot of people thinking all the Nurseries in Sg. Buloh had shifted away to other places. So since last year, I found out the business which is operate by Panda’s Family is dropping. I guess this must be the main reason, because people out there do not know that most of the Nurseries are still there operating, and will not be shifting out so soon.
*The Valley of Hope*
This place is formally a Leprosy Control Centre (Leprosy Settlement).
The whole compound is about 500 aches. This settlement area was constructed during the British Colony in 1930s. Leprosy patients here live in a well constructed environment under medical supervision.
Surprisingly, the leprosarium community here is living under a well planned of their own ‘rules and regulations’ and great town planning. Residents here are living in an environment with mixture of races. They are Chinese, Malay, Indians and others. The communities here have their own school, social club house, police station, fire brigade and places for worship for different religions.
The Story Behind:
There were stories of patients who have struggled and psychological suffered. And here is the place the patients could live in humane surroundings.
The Leprosy Settlement has marked a very significant stage in Malaysian History in relation to medicine, architecture planning and social cultural aspects.
Under the well construction under the trustee of the Commonwealth Medical Trust, the houses here are mostly constructed with the design and idea of Garden City by Charles Crompton Reade from Australia. Houses are all small, constructed in about 15ft by 20ft ~ Living area, kitchen and washroom are connected.
Since years back, most of the residents here stayed with the plantation and farming as their main income resources. And now, the generations of at least 2 are still here continuing the Farming and Nursery business.

Then you may ask, ‘Is Panda’s parents are one of them too?’ ~ They Are Not.
They were from George Town, Penang since 25 years ago, they introduced by a relative who was actually the patient here to work for the pottery factory. And After years, they managed to set up their own nursery business and operating there since more than15 years ago. Beside the Nursery Retail, Panda’s brother manages to have his landscaping projects coming in too.
If you know about the New Sg. Buloh Hospital, drive all the way in from the main road in front of the Hospital, you will see the Old Leprosy Hospital in your left hand side. Then go further more… You will start seeing all the nurseries … there are a lot more in all the way in… about 5 min drive from New Sg. Buloh Hospital, you will see Lam Garden Sdn Bhd.

3. 25g Soft Black Wood Ear
4. 1 Tomato (sliced)
5. 1 stalk Chinese Celery (cut 1 inch)
6. 1 Red Chili (sliced)
7. 3 Cloves Garlic (Chopped)
Seasoning:
1 tbsp Oyster sauce
1 tsp Sour Plum Sauce
½ tsp Corn flour
1/3 tsp pepper
*mix well above seasoning with 1 cup of water.
Methods:
1. Heat 2 tbsp oil in frying pan and fry chopped garlic until fragrant.
2. Add in sliced tomato and soft wood ear.
* stir fry over medium heat until tomatoes turned soft.
3. Add Seasoning, Mien Gen and Fried Pork until tender.
4. Add in Chinese Celery and Sliced Red Chili - stir fry for 5 min.

Sambal "So Choi"
Being a Chinese Malaysian, we are staying in the Different Culture’s society…
We are here living with Cultures Mixing since hundred years ago.
Malaysia’s culture is marked by the Ancient Malay Culture, the Chinese and the Indians. Myself, I born in Penang, this is a city which is full of the impression of Chinese Cultures. I heard from my parents and grandparents that our grad grand parents came from China to exploit the tin and rubber hundred years ago.
But my family moved and migrated to the Borneo Island which is belongs to another part of Malaysia ~ we call the East Malaysia. And I grew up there in Land Below The Wind call Sabah…
Sabah the beautiful Borneo Island, there are many which live in the forests and coastal areas of Borneo. There are few ethic groups in Sabah ~ Kadazan, Dusun and Murut. They blended together with us and created uniquely diverse heritage for our country.

1. Soak dried shrimps until soft, rinse and drain (Chop Shrimps into small pcs)

Lamp Chop ~ X'mas Eve Dinner
We normally got out for Good Dinner for the pass few Christmas Eve we had.
Christmas Eve 2007 ~ We decided not going out for this Christmas Eve’s Dinner!
We Decided to have our 2007 Christmas Eve Dinner at home with BigFish Cook Book ~ yahoooo!!!
Went to Tesco and start preparing... Here it is ~
Ingredients:
1. Marinated Black Pepper Lamp Chop ~ from Tesco
2. Black Pepper mix powder (Maggie)
3. 1 Tomato (slices)
4. 1 carrot (cubed)
5. 3 Sweet Peas
6. 1 Potato (cubed)
7. 1 Red Onion (sliced)
8. 1 stalk Celery (take the leafs)
9. 3 BBQ Cheese big Sausages
Methods:
1. Boil a pot of water. Add 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp butter. Blanch ingredients (3,4,5) until soft.
2. Drain and arrange on a plate.
3. Heat sufficient oil and fry Cheese Sausages until it turn brownish.
4. Pour 1 tbsp oil and fry the Marinated Black Pepper Lamp Chop until 80% cooked with medium heat. Arrange on a plate.
5. Mix the Black Pepper Powder with water (400ml), add 1 tsp Sour Plum Sauce – mix well.
6. Heat up wok with sufficient oil with medium heat. Pour in and sauté until fragrant.
* Pour the sauce over the Lamp Chop and Red Onion ~ Garnish with Sliced Red Chili ~ DONE!
We ready a bottle of Red Wine and our little small Christmas Tree on the dinning table.

SSF ~ The Art of Living
Went to SSF (Home Deco Mart) lately, for the membership and also the voucher redemption. Perhaps Panda is Interior Design Consultant and doing a lot of projects for Show House. With the purchase amount he did for his latest project, so he entitled to get Voucher for membership redemption.
SSF is a place where you can find a lot of quality households and decorative things. If you are lazy to have real gardening at home, you can have their fake-plants. All the “plastic plants” there are well placed in nice glass or pot.
There is something I really wanted to own them, but still is not the time yet for me to have it now… those are Nice and Quality Candle Stand with all kind of different designs. Besides, they sell a lot of Drawings and Lightings too. Huh… how I wish my house is big enough for all the stuffs I wanted to have…. ~ pheeeeuuu…
Guess every ‘Cooking Lovers’ will always wanted to have nice beautiful kitchen accessories… One of my lovely things to collect is ~ I hope my future kitchen is really big enough for me to have my different Dinning Set and Kitchen Accessories…

Hand Bagss... Looks who CRAZY!
I have been so busy for the pass few days… No time to Blog and even didn’t have time to cook… Oooorrrggghhh!!!
Oh anyway, I’m back here today… I went for my hand bags and accessories shopping again. Ermmm… I am thinking to get something for my mom and relatives as Chinese New Year present.
Oooh… I finally find out there’s too many of my Girls’ friends like hand bag like CRAZY!
To satisfy Girl’s Urge… I have decided to buy more and more... so can share with people around me… hahahhaa~

The most important thing is… PRICE! If you see people selling Hand Bags outside with the price of RM50 – RM80, then what I can get here is around RM25 – RM35. For those normal designs or simple one, I can even get it with below RM25… hahahhaaa…
THE PRICE IS EVEN LOWER THAN “MALAYSIA YEAR END CARNIVAL SALES”.
The price really make me CRAZY !!!

The friend will give me the latest update and I will normally choose from there. Cos they actually don’t sell in retail. Then will be picking up from him personally. My deal with them is quite flexible, but still there is a Minimum Quantity that I need to follow. People buying from them following by colors, if you have chosen a certain design… then you have to take all the colors they have.
*The offer they gave me is, they allow me to choose any 6 designs. And I’m still getting the prices which they sell in bulks. So my minimum order is 6pcs each time.
There is something I really like, they seldom do repeat order unless your quantity is huge. They change their stocks whenever the current stocks finished. This is why I stick to them, cos I won’t be seeing same old stocks when I wanna to have new hand bags.
They are going to have another batch of new stocks for CNY soon by January. Pls let me know if you are interested. I will post all the pictures here!

Steam Fish with Shao Hsing Wine
Steam The Fishes or Fried The Fishes… huh… ??!
I have finally decided to steam the fishes. Again I tried with the love Shau Shing Wine again. And I have bought this Fish Sauce few weeks ago, but still keeping it in the kitchen. Errrmmmhhh… This time I gonna use it!
~Shao Hsing Wine and Fish Sauce

~Shao Hsing Wine and Fish Sauce
Ingredients:
1. Fishes (2)
2. Ginger (sliced)
3. 1 cut Bird Eye Chili (Chili Padi)
4. 1 shallot (sliced)
5. 1 mushroom (sliced)
Method:
*1. To make the fishes tasty – rub on 1/2 tsp Sesame oil and 1 tsp Oyster sauce.
* 2. To make the nice stocks – 1 tbsp of Shao Hsing Wine mixed with 1/2 cup water.
Then ~ Pour over (*1 and *2) fish and let it marinate for at list 15min.
Before steam ~ add 1 tbsp of Fish Sauce.
*3. Fry the Sliced Ginger until fragrant. Mixed with ½ teaspoon of Oyster Sauce.
Steam the Fishes for 20min… garnish with Red Sliced Chili and SERVE!
(If you like to serve it with the Ginger… pour on top)

I believe almost all Girls and Ladies will never have limits on HAND BAGS spending.
Once can have all kind of new hand bags to suite our fashion style… that’s they best part in our life!
The question is… I’m not the type of person who only likes branded, then most of the time I will like to have Non Branded but ‘up to the trend’ fashion. My urge on hand bags is the most horrible part to my Panda, my hand bags collection is now hanging on the wall, occupied 1/3 of our Study Room. Different colors, different designs, different pattern and style… I just love them so much although those are not branded, but I am so satisfy when every time I wanted to match my dressing.
There are some ladies that do not have any limits on the Accessories Spending. Although I’m always crazy on having new hand bags, but I do concern the price when I shop for it.
I want them TRENDY and CHEAP… most important is, NOT HARM to the public eyes… haha!
My Quote is: Why should I spend few thousand for a Branded if I can have tons of different design and trendy but Non Branded with spending less?!
Come to choose the cheap and nice hand bags! As usual… ladies always look for Sales Season. Now I have another better choice where I can have my Trendy hand bags with spending even lesser than the Sales Season.
I have a chance to meet with Hand Bag Supplier who introduced by a friend, and the prices they given to me is just so much NICER compare to even the Sales Season!!!
But the only thing is… I have to buy at least ½ dozen or 1 dozen each time lar…

Steam Chicken with Shao Hsing Wine
~the before
Ingredients:
1. Whole piece of Chicken Tight (chop into small pcs)
2. Ginger (Cut into slices)
3. 50g Wolfberries ~ Ji Zi
4. 5 Red dates ~ Hung Zau
5. 1 Chinese Mushroom
6. 1 stalk Chinese Celery
7. 1 cut Bird Eye Chili ***
*Marinate the Chicken pcs with 1 tbsp of Shou Hsing Wine, 1 tbsp of Oyster sauce, 1 tsp of sesame oil, ½ tsp of corn flour. (at least 20min)
Method:
Steam at least 20 min.
Sprinkle chopped Chinese Celery on top and SERVE!!!

This is the first tried of Steam Chicken I did after I went to a Food Court. Panda and I had the “Sufficient Stock LALA” for supper. Found out they cook the LALA with Shao Hsing Wine and wolfberries, it really taste good! Errrrm… I decided to modified from there and create it in my own cooking way for my Chicken tonight.

I went to Porpular Book Store yesterday. Purposely… I want to have a look whether they have any new cook book. My purpose was not to buy the book ~ with the short visit time, I was just curious whether there’s any new creative way that I can learn a bit here and there.
My God! I cannot believe my eyes… just right at the middle of the entrance, I found this!
Orrrggghhh… flip the book and had a deep look, those are the recipes and dishes that normally I can see from my mom’s cooking for the Chinese New Year Eve’s Dinner. What a funny book eh ~
Other than the Recipes, they written the Traditional of Chinese New Year like:~ Telling people about Red Packets, Lion Dance, Yu Sheng, Mandarin Oranges, Nian Gao and etc…
Without thoughts, I have bought it…

OUTING for every Sunday
We make a short visit again to Sg. Buloh nursery on Sunday as usual. Over so many years, if no other places to go… Sg. Buloh Nursery and have dinner at Sg. Buloh is one of the MUST DO activities we usually have for EVERY SUNDAY. Cos Panda's parents live there, and we have to go back there to make a short visit.
Here the Nursery ~ Lam Garden Sdn. Bhd. (45 min from K.L City)
For ppl who likes planting or gardening at home, please do make here a visit. The prices here are all reasonable and Panda’s family is operating the business since about 15 years ago.
The condition of air here is fresher than the city life. If u come here before the Chinese New Year… You will see all the Nurseries are selling the Chinese Lime tree (Kat Zai). If you are ready to have 1 or 2 pots to display Chinese Lime Tree at home, then come to visit Panda’s parents Nursery for Chinese New Year shopping.

The Golden Compass
After our Short Visit to Sg. Buloh … Panda decided to go for Movie.
This is the movie which we seen the Preview when we had movie ‘last time’… (If I remember ~ it was last month or the month before last month …)
I remember, both me and Panda had very good ‘VOTE’ on it.
But after this evening ~ I guess we had a bit disappointed…
The only appreciation is … the animation …
No matter how, no harm to pay for a WATCH.

about BLOG
I have my whole day FREE today accept morning.
So, I’m here sitting to find out more about BLOG!
I know a lot of people have their own blogs, but I thought blogging is just like a simple thing which writing your own diary and let other people to share with. But after all, I found out that blogging is “NOT ONLY THAT”… even far more than what I expected!
I have been busying with my Job as a Marketer for the pass few years. Going outstation and been flying around a lot. There’s so many things I can share here, and I had just missed the chance cos I didn’t actually know more about the Function Of Blog.
~ What a waste…
Started from Oct 2007, I started to rearrange my schedule and switching back to my own little business… I also started to learn on Creating my own Blog. That was the very first step for me and I started with my Nick Name as “BigFish” ~ this nick name been with me for more than 15 years since my secondary school time. Over here, I want to share with people here about My Things and Feeling that made from the heart.
Very beginning... I was so glad about creating my own blog. But on the other hand, it was so hard for me to start with. I had even difficulties to start with the Add and Arrange Page Elements … My God! I started to notice that I am far behind with what is up to date online now!
Anyway… not giving up… I started with my own Cook Book. I like to cook and create new recipes for my own dish. Everything got started with taking pictures while I am doing my ingredients preparing and cooking. I practice myself to take down all the photos for the food I have done for every meal.
I was so exciting… I finally can manage my own personal time to take out the ‘WOK’ which I had kept inside the cupboard for more than 3 years due to my busy working schedule. I decided everything to be rearranged and start again… My writing, my cooking, my housework, my handicraft hobby, my pets…
Then so coincident, few weeks ago…I met one of my close best friends online, and she told me that she is an active blogger since 3 years ago, and she has a lot of fans there…she even earns from posting her Blogs… Gosh! Unbelievable… I can never believe Blogging is another pipe-line to earn extra income too. Pheeeuu… such a new stuff for me!
She told me about the Traffics, The Blog Rank and etc… everything seems so hard for me to understand. After short thinking, I have decided to start with what I can do now and since I want to make my ‘BigFish~Cook Book’, then I will learn step by step and hopefully from time to time, I can have my group of bloggy too. I believe if my contents are informative and friendly enough, I will slowly get into PPP…

Pills
Black Bear's dad is now home…
He is consulting by a Mental Specialist now in Sg. Buloh New Hospital and we never believe that our new Government Hospital is now having so many Specialist Departments.
Pray to God ~ Black Bear’s dad can get well soon.
He starts to communicate better with his sons and daughter in a better way now!
Black Bear's dad told us that he is not feeling so dizzy now after taking the medicines given by the Sg. Buloh Government’s Specialist. Cos for the pass at least 8 years, he’s been consulting the Private Mental Specialist in Plaza Angkasa Jaya near the KLCC. From what he told us… he is sure... after taking all the pills as below, he feels sleepy and forgetful all the time.
Hopefully he listens to his sons and don’t go back to the Private Specialist in Plaza Angkasa Jaya again.
These are the Pills he was having for the pass many years… pheeeuuu!
1. Imipramine (25mg)
2. Diazepam (2mg)
3. Nootropil (800mg)
4. Serlift (100mg)
5. Stilnox (10mg)
6. Glucovange (500mg/2.5mg)
By the way, I’m not a pharmacy and I don’t really know what are these pills resulted on a Depression Patient. But according to the consultant we meet in Sg. Buloh Hospital, his dad is not too serious for taking up so many kinds of pills.
